"Whatever I Did, I Did It My Way." Don Jaime Chooses the Right Way by Not Skipping the Vaccine Line
This humbling act of Ayala Corporation chairman emeritus, Don Jaime Zobel de Ayala, shows that indeed, being the down-to-earth business leader that he is, he remains true to his favorite motto, “Whatever I did, I did it my way." And what he did, he did it the right way.
Don Jaime, together with his wife Beatriz Miranda Barcon, received their COVID-19 vaccine last April 13.

According to witnesses, the couple was offered to go ahead of other individuals queuing to get vaccinated, but the two refused to receive such preferential treatment and instead, just like any regular Filipino, waited in line at a vaccination site in Makati City.
"No, we're all Filipinos." - Jaime Zobel de Ayala on being offered special treatment while queuing for a vaccine shot.
Despite it being the bare minimum, Filipinos were quick to laud the 86-year-old businessman for setting a great example of following protocols.
The Ayala Group has spent P120 million for 450,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from British firm AstraZeneca, which will be split between the government and the conglomerate’s employees. The company also reported the vaccination of 1,400 of its healthcare worker population in QualiMed Health Network.
The Zobels control the Ayala Corporation, one of the country’s oldest companies. Meanwhile, Don Jaime has been consistently included in Forbes magazine's Philippines 50 Richest.
