The P250-million vaccination site, funded by the International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) Foundation, is called Solaire ICTSI Foundation Inc. Vaccine Center (SIVC). It is located along New Seaside Drive in Parañaque City and hosts eight ambulatory vaccination centers and 30 drive-thru booths.
For the initial run of the site, 50,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine have been allocated by the national government.
According to ICTSI executive vice president Christian Gonzalez, they are targeting to administer 15,000 doses daily if there is enough supply. Appointments, however, would course through the Parañaque City local government.
"We as part of the private sector group are only participating in terms of funding and organization, but this sits on government land and it will remain a government land and it will be operated under the guidance of the national and city government," said Gonzalez during the launch.
The SIVC was earlier put in hot water after green advocates raised concerns over the environmental repercussions of its construction, but Gonzalez assured that no trees were cut during the process.
The ICTSI-funded facility was designed by a team of architects that includes renowned environmental planner, architect Jun Palafox.
