Business reality show "The Final Pitch" launches ASEAN edition
After seven successful seasons of providing a stage for Filipino startups and founders to showcase their innovative and unique business ideas, local business reality TV show "The Final Pitch" is now expanding to the rest of Southeast Asia's startup ecosystem. Officially dubbed "The Final Pitch ASEAN (TFPA)," the reality show will be on the lookout for the next batch of high-growth startups and soon-to-be unicorns in the region.
"The world is looking at Southeast Asia as an emerging tech region. There are so many challenges here but there are also many opportunities. And there are a growing number of future unicorns that are being born as we speak. We are looking at expediting their exponential growth across Southeast Asia with TFPA," "The Final Pitch" creator and host John Aguilar said.
The ASEAN edition of the show will be following the same format used for the Philippine edition, which has supported over 100 startups and raised millions of dollars in funds.
Aside from bringing forward and supporting high-growth startups, the show aims to introduce the format to Southeast Asian audiences and hopefully become licensed in other Southeast Asian countries.
The show is currently searching for business leaders from Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam who can make investments in startups to be the investor-judges for the ASEAN edition.
"They have to be in a position to be able to invest in high-growth companies but at the same time will serve as strategic partners for the expansion of any scale-up that wants to enter their respective countries. They have to be successful diversified family conglomerates or seasoned investors looking at investing in mostly series A and up startups," the show creator and host said.
Aguilar also mentioned the benefits of becoming an investor-judge for the ASEAN edition, stating that through the show, the investor-judges would have the opportunity to showcase their countries and respective businesses on top of acquiring access to a pipeline of the best startups across the region.
"The show will serve as a platform for the investor-judges to be business ambassadors, and we will be bringing the startups who they are looking to invest in to their respective countries so the startups and the viewers see for themselves what they do, and what their mission is. The show will allow the startups and the investor-judges to reach out to a global audience, and will encourage cross-border investments and collaboration with their ASEAN neighbors," Aguilar explained.
"TFPA" is expected to start filming in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Before the target filming, the show will initially select investor-judge candidates from each country within the next two months through a regional roadshow. Interested investor-judges can reach out to "TFPA" by emailing admin@dragonsnest.co.
"The Final Pitch" episodes can be viewed on CNN Philippines and is also available on the show's official YouTube channel.
