The Final Pitch returns for a seventh season
The search for the 'next big unicorn' is on as "The Final Pitch" officially launches its seventh season.
For its latest season, "The Final Pitch" goes from nation-building to rebuilding the nation. It makes an aggressive call for business solutions for the new normal that can help alleviate the challenges brought upon by the pandemic.
Slated to premiere on CNN Philippines in October, the 10-episode series to be hosted by show creator John Aguilar will be joined by thought leaders and experienced entrepreneurs as distinguished investor-judges. They are Dennis Uy, CEO of Converge ICT Solutions; Bernard Dy, mayor of Cauayan City; Ricky Villarante, chairman and CEO of 8Ventures; Rose Bosch-Ong, senior executive vice president and COO of Wilcon Depot; and David Almirol, founder and CEO of Multisys Technologies Corporation.
During the virtual press conference of the program last Tuesday, September 7, the investor-judges revealed what they are looking for in a startup and business idea.
For Uy, there are three things that he is on the lookout for, and these are those who have high-growth potential, can make an impact on society and nation-building, and can use technology to uplift the lives of others.
Meanwhile, Almirol hopes to find so-called "technopreneurs" who can fill the market gap for technology in the local setting.
On the other hand, Bosch-Ong is looking to find innovative entrepreneurs who can present products that can be sold through Wilcon's store network to promote the local market.
For Cauayan City Mayor Dy, sustainable Filipino-made business solutions that can help improve the lives of the Filipinos today and the future generations to come will be his priority.
Lastly, Villarante said he is looking for startups backed by passionate teams with grit and great minds.
Aside from the diverse panel of investor-judges, "The Final Pitch" will also be accompanied by this year's group of mentors, namely Dean Bernales, managing director of Uniquecorn Strategies; Patt Soyao, managing director of Icon Executive Search; and Hiyasmin Neri-Soyao, managing director of Shoppertainment Live.
The participants can expect to learn about the ins and outs of public relations from Bernales, the big opportunities in live streaming and how to thrive and scale during a crisis from Neri-Soyao, and the importance of attracting the right talents and professionals from Soyao.
The newest season will be introducing a new experience to both the investors, the participants, and the viewers by offering a hybrid virtual setup as a safety precaution.
Via video calls, investors will be interacting from their respective offices with the contestants pitching their businesses at The Final Pitch Studios at Dragon's Nest in Libis, Quezon City.
"The Final Pitch" will be accepting applications until September 17.
